On the north side of the cape is a small cove with a port called Bolata. This is a firth and a narrow gorge that cuts through the coast to the former war zone. On both sides there are rock formations with caves carved into them. In short Bolata flow stream that is fed by numerous springs. At the point where it flows into the sea, formed a lagoon estuary. This is the only sandy beach in the area Bolata is the only reserve in Bulgaria, including the territorial sea, sea area. This may occur zemerodni kingfishers, bittern, herons, grebes and ducks. In the caves of Bolata are remains of ancient settlement and evidence of life from 400 BC.
Kavarna is a Black Sea coastal town and seaside resort in the Dobrudja region of northeastern Bulgaria.The town has a population of 11,397 inhabitants. The landmark Cape Kaliakra is located a few kilometers to the east, as is the tiny beachfront resort of Rusalka. During the 2000s, the town became famous with the annual Kaliakra Rock Fest featuring famous rock bands from around the world.
